Joshi to continue as CM, assures Thackeray

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
MUMBAI, SEPT 27: There is no move to dislodge Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi in the wake of Mumbai High Court's recent observation that rules were flouted while allowing Joshi's kin to construct a multi-crore complex at Pune, according to Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.

``There is no truth in the reports that Joshi will be removed from Chief Ministership,'' Thackeray was quoted as saying in the Sena mouth-piece Saamna today.

Political circles in the State were abuzz with rumours that Joshi had been asked to resign following the court's observation on Friday that rules were flouted while allowing Girish Vyas, son-in-law of Joshi, to develop a residential-cum-shopping complex on a plot reserved for a primary school in Pune. ``The future course will depend upon the court's action after Nov 4,'' Thackeray clarified.
