Four killed in highway mishap

NASHIK, SEPT 27: Four persons were killed and three were injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a truck at the Devarpada Phata near Zodge village of Malegaon taluka on the Mumbai-Agra national highway on Saturday night.The deceased were from Nimkhedi village near Muktai Nagar of Jalgaon district and were returning home after a pilgrimage to Saptashrungi at Vani and the Ram Kund, Godavari. On the way to Malegaon, the driver lost control and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite side. The driver Balkrishna Patil (25), Bhaskar Pawal (30), Nanda Wagh (35) and Mukund Salukne (18) were killed. The truck driver is absconding. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
