AHMEDABAD, Sept 27: The Rashtriya Janata Party can become the alternative of Bharatiya Janata Party in the State, party supremo Shankarsinh Vaghela expressed this hope in a meeting of its office-bearers of different wings and district committees at Gandhinagar on Sunday. The meeting was held to review the party's performance starting from RJP's convention to the state-wide bandh. State party president Madhusudan Mistry chaired the meeting. In view of recent incidents of common man's violent reaction towards leaders, Vaghela said that people have become anti-BJP and this is high time for the RJP to expand its organisation to become the alternative of BJP in the State.
For this purpose the RJP has divided the State into five zones and different working groups have been set up to look into the matters of different zones. This decision was announced by State president Mistry. A committee of Mohamadbhai Phansiwala, Khumansingh Vansia and Motibhai Vasava, formed to prepare report on Bharuch Parliamentary by-election, was asked to submit its report within a week.
RJP leaders also came down heavily on BJP government for their failure in tackling situations during Surat floods. It was said in the meeting that many eminent persons would join the party soon.
