NEW DELHI, September 27: A civil judge has ordered the attachment of equipment from the Delhi office of a Calcutta-based media group, after it failed to pay a former employee his dues.The property attached from the Amrita Bazar Patrika office at the Indian Newspapers' Society building include an air-conditioner, fax machine, two typewriters, nine tables, 13 chairs, two cupboards, four telephone instruments, a heater and a rack. The order was passed by Civil Judge Nisha Saxena when the representative of the group failed to appear in her court within the stipulated 10-day period.
The suit was filed by former Patrika business correspondent Major Sulakshan Mohan. Senior Civil Judge D.K. Malhotra had earlier ordered that he be paid Rs 22,450 along with cost percentile and future interest of 12 per cent per annum. Mohan, a resident of old Rajinder Nagar, was provided police help by the court for getting his warrant of attachment executed on September 15. He has now moved an application for permission to sell the attached articles.
