PUNE, Sept 27: The long-awaited Poona District Football Association (PDFA) elections were finally held, after a delay of over eight months. The outcome: Advocate Pratap Jadhav being unanimously re-elected as president, while Chetan Chavan received the post of general secretary for the coming three-year term.The turn-out was by far the best, 81 representatives out of a total of 87 PDFA affiliate clubs took part in the fifth general elections, to elect its office bearers at the Ghadge Maharaj Prarthana Hall today.
Surprisingly, what was expected to be a long and unending debate, was wrapped up in just under half-an-hour, which included the presentation of the annual report (incomplete earlier, leading to the delay).
Notable among the outgoing members were, Ashok Vanjari (Vice-President), Sunil Joshi (Jt. Secretary) and Vinod Mathurawala, Kisan Thakur, Bhupinder Singh, Prabakhar Nikam and Kisan Gaikwad (members).
