NEW DELHI, Sept 28: Sandeep Kakkar of Hindu College and Rakhi Mehra of St Stephen's College established new meet records in the men's and women's sections, respectively, on the opening day of the Delhi University inter-college aquatic meet, held at Punjabi Bagh Club pool today.Kakkar won 50m freestyle with a record time of 0:25.47, erasing the previous mark of 0:26.40. Rekha won her 50m freestyle in 0:29.91. Kakkar also won gold in 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m breast stroke and 50m freestyle. Rakhi Mehra won four gold medals in 100m breast, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 400m individual medley.
Dhruv, Poonam win: Dhruv (Karnal) and Poonam (Rohtak) won the under-10 boys and girls singles titles in the Raj Kumar Babuta Memorial Haryana State Ranking table tennis tournament. Dhruv beat Rohit Verma (Sirsa) 21-19, 20-22, 25-23 and Poonam beat Sonam of Rohtak 21-19, 21-12.
