The left-hander struck two sixes and 15 fours in his nearly three-hour essay. Manjrekar and Bhaktiar Palekar put on 207 for the third wicket. Palekar made 90 with ten fours.

At the Brabourne Stadium, off-spinner Viraj Pai's three-wicket haul from four balls, skittled out Vijay Merchant XI for 276. Merchant XI, at one stage, were 264 for four after which the tall off-spinner picked up three wickets. Medium-pacer Uday Karkera captured two wickets.

Merchant XI resumed their first innings at 97 for two with Sachin Sawant on strike. After his dismissal, Rohan Bagade and Amit Mumgekar forged 83 runs for the fourth wicket. Bagade was unlucky to miss his century by one run. He struck two sixes and nine fours in his 99.

Play began at 10.30a.m. at the Elf-Vengsarkar ground. And soon the Manjrekar XI openers Ashutosh Narkar and Sudesh Nayak were in action slamming the seamers. Narkar and Nayak raised 91 for the first wicket. After the fall of the openers, Manjrekar and Palekar took complete control of the Khandu Rangnekar XI bowlers.

Tomorrow is the last day of the first-round league matches. The match between Manjrekar XI and Phadkar XI, scheduled for October 13-15, will now be played at the Elf Ground from Thursday, October 1.
