VADODARA, Sept 30: The Centralised Admission Committee (CAC) has started the procedure of admissions for students wanting to seek admissions in various professional degree colleges in the state. The committee has already declared the first (provisional) list of the applicants, who are eligible for various engineering and medical courses and would receive admissions in branches of study as per their percentage. According to committee authorities, the first merit list of the applicants would be declared at the L D Engineering College, like every year.
The delay in admission procedure in various professional colleges of the state has been delayed for the second consecutive year. Though CAC authorities assure that the semester would not be delayed, they admit that teachers would find it difficult to make up for the lost half-year.
As one of the members pointed out, that even if the admissions began before the Diwali vacations, students would still be at a loss as they would be a term behind in comparison to engineering colleges of other states.
Stating that students had already lost one term, he said, in all probability the classes would begin after the Diwali vacations.
