Addressing a rally on the occasion of Dussehra at Shivaji Park in Dadar here, Joshi said that he would rather step down from his chair than see Thackeray being arrested. Attacking the recent remarks made by Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav to provide assistance of Rs 2000 crore to Pakistan in order to eradicate poverty in that country, Joshi said Mulayam was being ``anti-national''.

Later, talking about the achievements of his government, Joshi said that the Sena Government is doing well and has managed to achieve much more in three and a half years than what the Congress had achieved in its rule of over four decades.

He said his government's ambitious project of completing 50 flyovers in the city in 25 months will be completed by the year 2000. Headded that the Rs 1500 crore Mumbai-Pune express highway will also be ready for use by January 26, 2000.

Lauding the efforts of his government to boost the agriculture sector, he said the Agro Advantage Convention to be held in November this year would be a further impetus in this direction. Thackeray will also address a rally of nearly five lakh farmers on November 9 at the same venue as part of the programme, he informed.

The tourism sector would be benefitted by beginning a tiger safari at the Borivali national park and other projects like the underwater aquarium and the Vikrant project, said Joshi.
