3 injured in mishap
Three people were injured when a ST bus (GJ 5Z 4429) collided with a LPG tanker (HR-38-A-6489) at Waghodia Crossing on the National Highway no 8 on Thursday afternoon, the police said. The injured have been identified as Jassubhai Vitthalbhai Vasava (40), Bhailal Patel (60) and Jadaben Mohanbhai have been admitted to the SSG Hospital, the police added.

Killed
A 45-year-old woman Shardaben Jassubhai Patel, a resident of Wadi Towers, was killed and three others, including a one-and-half-year-old boy, were injured, when their dilapidated house collapsed on Wednesday evening, the Wadi police said. The injured are undergoing treatment in the SSG Hospital, the police added. According to the Wadi police, one of the walls became weak following demolition of an adjoining house, due to which the house collapsed.

One jailed
One Zakir Haji Ayub Teli, a resident of Usha Kiran building, opposite Nawabwada, in Raopura area, who was involved in violation of foreign exchange rules, was recently arrested under COFEPOSA and sent to the Sabarmati Central Jail on directions of the State Home Department, the police said.

Vehicles stolen
A scooter (GJ6-DD-3867) worth Rs 30,000 was stolen from United Garba parking in Nand Society, while a Bajaj scooter (GJ-6-EE-9023) worth Rs 20,000 was lifted from Mahakali Society on New Sama Road on Wednesday night.

Liquor seized
The police seized 30 litres of country liquor worth Rs 600 during raids carried out at different places in the city and arrested four people in the connection. A total of eight cases were booked under Prohibition Act, the police added.

Ban orders
Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma has banned carrying of firearms and all other weapons, storing bricks, missiles and explosive materials within the jurisdiction of police commissionerate with effect from October 1, a release said. The ban will remain in force upto October 10, the release added.
