Weekend Retreat/Rana Kapoor
N Shivpriya
Rana Kapoor, managing director of Dutch multinational bank Rabo's Indian subsidiary, is pretty demanding when it comes to finding the right place for a weekend retreat. The ideal spot should offer a judicious mix of family life, recreation and rejuvenation. Not to mention challenge. Thankfully, such a place is right round the corner: home. Not for him fancy beach resorts and hillside retreats. Just a quiet time at home sweet home (off Kemps Corner), catching up on what's happening, playing around and spending time with the kids. Aged fourteen, twelve and five, the three kids are Kapoor's biggest challenge. ``Getting them to listen to you is a big challenge,'' he jokes. Some Friday and Saturday evenings are taken up on the social circuit. But there's always time to take the family out for dinner. And teeing off on the greens. ``It freshens you up -- you get back to work with more enthusiasm,'' says Kapoor. He guards this quality weekend time zealously. No work, no business -- because it's time away from thetearing hurry of everyday life. And that's what makes even reading the morning newspaper so special.
