Indian missile project now unstoppable: US
India's industrial base is now "sufficiently advanced'' to the extent that technological sanctions can only delay the progress of its ballistic missile programmes, according to a US Congressional Commission report. The report says that India has acquired and continues to seek Russian, US, and Western European technology for its missile programmes.

World Bank president James Wolfensohn has praised India's stewardship of the economy and said it had chosen a very good course and done very well at a time when many other countries were in financial distress.
