ONGC donates Rs 5 lakhs for town hall

VADODARA, Oct 4: Jauhari Lal, Director (Personnel) and R C Gourh, Director (Technical) along with a team from Mckinsey visited Western Region's Regional Office, Vadodara and its projects at Mehsana and Ankleshwar. They met various groups of senior officers, employees and unions' representatives to discuss the ongoing Organisational Transformation Project (OTP). The OTP is proposed to be implemented on a pilot scale in ONGC's Western Region, which will ensure accelerated exploration and enhanced production in the Western Onshore area.

Celebrations: Festivities and celebrations marked the week as all projects of WRBC welcomed the autumn season. Garbas organised by the Mahila Samitis and employees' associations in Mehsana, Ankleshwar and Vadodara, attracted huge crowds. Ramlila was also enacted by employees at the Ankleshwar project, besides the Ravan Dahan ceremony. Durga Puja was also celebrated at the project.

Donated: As part of its Community Development Programme, ONGC, Mehsana Project donated Rs 5 lakhs towards the proposed construction of B R Ambedkar Town Hall in Mehsana Town. Director (personnel) and Director (Technical) handed over the cheque to municipal authorities at a function on September 27. C Lal, GGM (project) K G Gupta, GGM (P&A), senior officials of Mehsana Project, among others were present on the occasion.

AGM Held: The 20th annual general body meeting of Central Workshop Employees' Co-operative Credit Society Ltd was held at the Workshop lawns recently. While the society declared a net profit of about Rs 97,000, the total turnover for the 1997-98 has been about three and a half lakhs. During the last fiscal year, loans were provided to 198 members for consumer items, while 285 members were given cash loans. The society has also contributed towards the `Death Benefit Scheme' for two of its members who died during the year. The society also declared a contribution of Rs 1,80,000 for giving annual gifts to the members. B S Patel, Accountant Grade I, T R Patel, Head Draftsman were elected to the society's board at the meeting, which was presided over by B S Talwar, GM (M) CWS, Vadodara.
