Naval Dockyard rout All Parsees by three

MUMBAI, Oct 10: Naval Dockyard trounced All Parsees 3-0 in the MDFA-conducted Harwood football league at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today.

Darryl Rasquinha scored off a pass by Sebastian Caldeiro to give Dockyard the lead early in the sixth minute. Simon Fernandes and Anthony George combined well before the latter beat goalkeeper Zarir Shroff with a placement to make it 2-0. Darryl Rasquinha capped a solo to round-off the tally.

Other results: Division II play-off: Beach Boys, Mahim, 1 (Denise D'Souza) bt St Joseph's, Mira Road, 0. Division III A: Striker Boys, Kalina, 1 (Anil Makwana) bt Worli Sports Club 0.

Ruparel topsRuparel defeated Kirti by an innings and one point (9-8) and claimed the Inter-Collegiate kho kho title in the women's section. This was Ruparel's eighth consecutive title triumph.

Shalaka, Suchitra Maske, Rashmi Patil and Sheetal Chopra played vital roles in Ruparel's success. Kranti Khandekar and Rupali Rajeshirke played well for Kirti.

Aranha 'tricks Holiday Innand Tipu Sultan scored easy victories in the Western India Football Association Senior Division football match at the Cooperage today.

Vallace Aranha slammed in a hat-trick in Inn's 3-1 victory while Tipu Sultan put across a 2-0 score over Dadar XI B. Abrar Ansari (71st minute) and Shoib Momin (90th) were the scorers.

Cricket postponed

Due to the inclement weather, the matches of the Mumbai Junior cricket shield tournament scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 11 are shifted to October 18.

The club secretaries and the related umpires may please note the postponement.
