BJP dumps Sahib, brings in Sushma
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday announced that Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma had stepped down and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj would be the new CM. She will be sworn in today.

Swaraj called to make "sacrifice"
In its desperate gamble, the BJP wants to play safe. So Sahib Singh Verma is not to be inducted into the Union Cabinet for now, nor are Sushma Swaraj's portfolios, Communications and Information & Broadcasting, to be filled until after the November Assembly elections.

Jaya keeps options open on tie-ups
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief J Jayalalitha on Saturday kept her options open on electoral alliances, including a possible tie-up with the Congress, and described her party's pre-election tie-up with the BJP as, ``only a seat adjustment.''
