Zimbabwe humiliate India
The much-vaunted Indian batting failed to click yesterday as the visitors slumped to a humiliating 61-run defeat with over a day to spare in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Ground. Requiring 235 to win after Zimbabwe were bowled out for 293 in their second innings, India were dismissed for a meagre 173 runs, Rahul Dravid once again top-scoring with 44.

Indian duo in final against Woodies
World number three Indian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes entered final of the Shanghai Open ATP tournament and will clash with top seeds, Australians Woodies, for the title tomorrow.

Indian men beat Peru
Indian men scored a crucial 3-1 victory over Peru in the 11th round of the Chess Olympiad at Elista yesterday. The win took the Indians to 24 points and probably a chance to make a last-ditch effort to try and get into the top 25 with two more good wins in the last rounds.
