Vikram hits century

S.A.S. NAGAR, Oct 13: Vikramjit Sodhi's unbeaten ton and his 100-run seventh-wicket partnership with Sanjay Dhull helped Chandigarh to be in a comfortable position against Jalandhar on the first day of the two-day Punjab Inter-District cricket for the Dhruve Pandove Trophy quarterfinal here at the PCA Stadium today.

In reply to Chandigarh's first innings score fo 336 for 8, Jalandhar were 14 for no loss when stumps were drawn.

Vikram slammed ten boundaries in his knock of 103 n.o. but for his partnership with Sanjay Dhull (38) Chandigarh would have been in a precarious position.

Deepak Thakur (39) and Anurag Sharma (35) were the other scorers for Chandigarh.

Scores: Chandigarh (Ist innings): 336 for 8 (Vikramjit Singh Sodhi 103 n.o., Deepak Thakur 39, Sanjay Dhull 38, Anurag Sharma 35; Rajiv Jolly 4-82, Rajesh Sharma 2-56). Jalandhar (Ist innings): 14 for no loss

Sandeep's fine spell helped Sanjay Public School-44 score beat Government Model School-45 by 74 runs in the Shivalik Trophy cricket today. In another match Govt Senior Secondary School-27 beat GMSSS-23 by four wickets.

GSSS-27: 137 for 6 in 25 overs (Narinder 37, Sabbal 25, Rahul 3 for 24); GMSSS-23: 137 in 25 overs (Devinder 22, Amit Sharma 31, Deepak 18, Gagan 4 for 29.
