NEW DELHI, OCT 15: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested PLS group of companies chairman R.K. Srivastava on the charge of cheating investors to the tune of Rs 40 crore.The accused, who had been absconding since last year, was today remanded to CBI custody for two weeks by the court of chief metropolitan magistrate, a bureau release said. The bureau had announced a reward of Rs one lakh for furnishing information leading to the arrest of Srivastava.
The CBI has registered four cases in August 1997 against PLS and filed charge sheets in two cases earlier this year. The other accused are directors A.K. Chaudhry, M.L. Srivastava, Seema Srivastav and R.K. Shukla of the PLS group consisting of PLS Technical Ltd, Zed Investment Ltd, Shreejee Capital Management Ltd and PLS Mutual Benefits Ltd.
