The youngster was rewarded with a kit bag and the Ramakant Desai trophy, instituted in memory of the former Test paceman, for the first time this year. Besides, he also made it to the Mumbai under-19 list of probables that was released by the Mumbai Cricket Association this evening.

Phadkar Xi had already assured themselves of the title after they finished their league assignments in the round-robin tourney having garnered 15 points from three matches.

The encounter between the cellar teams' -- Vijay Merchant XI and Khandu Rangnekar XI ended in a tame draw today.

Merchant XI, who resumed their second innings at 2-1, batted through the day to notch 223-8. Left-hander Amit Dhulap, who batted for nearly four hours, emergedthe topscorer with a fine unbeaten 88 (164b, 6x4).
