Two end life in city
Two persons, a young housewife and a middle-aged man, committed suicide by hanging themselves on Thursday, according to separate cases registered in the Umra and Udhna police stations of the city. Sandhya Tandlekar, a resident of Gokulnagar slum in Bhatar area of the city, committed suicide on Thursday afternoon in her house because of an argument with her husband earlier in the day, the Umra police said. She killed herself by hanging to the roof of the house, the police added. In another case of suicide, Mochiram Shahu committed suicide by hanging himself to a pillar of an underbridge at Udhna Road on Thursday afternoon, the Udhna police said. According to the police, the reason behind the extreme step is said to be an argument which Shahu had with his wife over a trivial reason. Cases under CrPC 174 have been registered in the respective police stations.

Man arrested
The Varachha police have arrested a man, who after suspecting his wife of infidelity, subjected her to physical and mental torture. Ranjanben Patel, a resident of Laxmi Complex in Varachha lodged a police complaint on Thursday, stating that her husband Pramod beat her up on October 9 and also threatened to kill her. The Varachha police have registered a case under sections 498 (a), 323 and 506 (2)of theIPC.

Burns death
One Babyben Pande, 22, a resident of room no 22, of the Gujarat Housing Board, Pandesara died during the early hours of Thursday at the Maskati hospital, where she was admitted on Wednesday with severe burn injuries, the Pandesara police said. According to the police, the deceased was making tea after midnight at her house when the kerosene stove exploded, causing her severe burn injuries.

Breach of trust
One Mahendra Patel, a weaver complained to the Salabatpura police that he was duped of Rs 36,000 by three people whom he named as Manu Kosiya, Mahesh Vekariya and Bharat Gajera. The Salabatpura police have registered a case under IPC 406 and 420 and have initiated investigations although no arrests have been made. All three accused are absconding, the police added.
