What about "rubber stamps" in Centre, Maharashtra, asks Rabri

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, Oct 16: Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi has asserted that she is not a ``rubber stamp'' of her husband Laloo Prasad Yadav and contended that there were several cases of one person ruling in the name of other in the country.

``L K Advani is running the Central Government in Atal Behari Vajpayee's name and Bal Thackeray is controlling the State Government in Maharashtra where Manohar Joshi is Chief Minister, Rabri Devi said.

In an interview to a private TV programme Ru-ba-Ru, she said, ``There is nothing wrong if I obey my husband's words but I don't ask him about everything. I see the files myself and sign them''.

Denying corruption charges levelled against her husband, she said, ``I provide education to my children with the income I get from selling cow milk''.

About CBI raids at her residence, she said, ``Except government properties there was nothing worth confiscating''.

``How can we make money? Whatever money we get comes from our salary and arrears. Apart from this we have some moneywhich we deposited in the bank,'' she said, adding that they earned money from the crops grown on five bighas of land gifted by her father.

On the proposed Vananchal state, she said, ``We will not allow division of Bihar under any circumstances. If the Central Government made any efforts we will fight a war against it''.

She asserted the law and order was ``very good'' in Bihar compared to other states. ``It is only because I am a lady who is running the government that they are getting jealous''.

Rabri said Governor S S Bhandari was sent to Bihar to send wrong reports about her government and destabilise it.

She charged Janata Dal leader Ram Vilas Paswan with joining hands with the BJP and said this was the reason he was insisting on dismissal of her government.
