NEW DELHI, October 16: A five-goal effort, including a hat-trick by Surinder Kaur helped SGNP Girls High School (Shahabad) humble Birsamunda Vidyapitha (Rourkela) 6-1 to storm into the final of fifth Nehru girls hockey tournament at National Stadium here today. In the final, Shahabad girls will take on Government High School (Ranchi) who defeated their counterparts from Patna 3-0.Surinder kaur scored the first four and the sixth goal for Shahabad while Simarjeet kaur got the fifth. The winners led 6-0 at the breather. Nlima Khujur got the consolation goal for Birsamunda through a `stroke.' A brace by Masira Surin and one goal by Jyoti Soreng helped the Ranchi team beat Patna to enter the final.
