"Suspect" action sidelines Harbhajan
The national cricket selectors dropped a bomb shell when young off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was left out of the Indian team for the October 24 to November 1 Mini-World Cup cricket tournament at Dhaka.

Pakistan batsmen pile up runs as Test heads towards draw
Ijaz Ahmed completed his Test cricket best of 155 for Pakistan yesterday as the high-scoring second Test against Australia headed for a draw. Pakistan declared their first innings at 580 for nine in response to Australia's 599 for four declared and the touring team were 21 for nought -- leading overall by 40 -- at the close on the fourth day.

Indian duo lose to Aussies in final
Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi lost to world No 1 Australian pair of Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde 2-6, 3-6 in the final of the Singapore Open tennis tournament in Singapore yesterday.
