MUMBAI, Oct 20: A four-member Malaysian squad spearheads the foreign challenge at the WMI Cranes Little Masters Indian Junior Open squash tournament, to be conducted by the Willingdon Sports Club on the club's four courts at Tardeo from October 21 to 24.Among them is Tricia Chuan who heads the seedings for both girls under-16 and under-19 events. She won the under-19 at the Hong Kong Open this year and will be challenged by Deepali Anvenkar, the National runner-up, in the under-19.
Teng Ooi Ean, also of Malaysia, is the top seed among the girls under-14. Her team-mate Sally Looi, a Sports Excel champion, is the fourth seed in the event, after Rhea Bhandare and Joshna Chinnappa.
This is the first time an International squash event for juniors is being held in the country. Hopefully, it will become an annual feature said Gopal Vazirani of WMI Cranes, the sponsors. There are over 100 participants.
