12 injured in group clash on Diwali night

ENS & AGENCIES
ROHTAK, Oct 20: About a dozen persons were injured in a clash between two groups belonging to different communities in nearby Mayna village on Diwali night.

Police have registered cases against 14 persons of both the groups under Sections 148, 149 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code. Police say one group was busting crackers in front of some houses. Some crackers fell into the houses and the owners objected. Despite this, they continued bursting crackers.

This resulted in the two groups throwing stones at each other. Sharp-edged weapons and lathis were reportedly used by both groups.

The injured persons were admitted to the Medical College. No arrest has been made so far. A large number of policemen have been deployed in the village to prevent untoward incidents.
