MOGA, Oct 20: A state-level function to mark Vishwakarma Day was organised at Ramgarhia Bhawan here today. Meanwhile, Ramgarhias, throughout the state, celebrated Vishwakarma Day by worshipping their tools.State Education Minister Tota Singh, Agriculture Minister Gurdev Singh Badal, Hira Singh Gobria, MLA, Ludhiana, Tarsem Singh Rattian, chairman, Punjab Tourism Development Corporation, Joginderpal Jain, chairman, Improvement Trust, Moga, and K. S. Gill, president, Nagar Council, Moga, were among those who spoke on the occasion.
Tota Singh, while paying tributes to Lord Vishwakarma, thanked the Ramgarhia community for working towards the development of the country.
He assured Ramgarhias engaged in building bodies of trucks and buses that they would be provided an alternate land at the focal point in case of the four-laning of the GT Road. He also assured a relief in tax on wood and steel furniture.
hile speaking on the occasion, Gurdev Singh Badal expressed concern over the damage to paddy crop in the state due to heavy rains. He assured that government agencies would purchase all damaged and discoloured paddy.
Messages of state Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Union Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal were also read out on the occasion.
