New flight
Indian Airlines has introduced a new flight which will operate on the Chennai-Pune-Ahmedabad-Calcutta. The flight numbers and timings are:
Flight no CD-267. Route: Calcutta-Ahmedabad-Pune-Chennai. Departure from Calcutta 2.30 p.m., arrival at Ahmedabad 5 p.m. and departure 5.30 p.m., arrival at Pune 6.30 p.m. and departure 7 p.m. and arrival at Chennai 8.35 p.m.
Flight no. CD-268. Route: Chennai-Pune-Ahmedabad-Calcutta. Departure from Chennai 2 p.m., arrival at Pune 3.35 p.m. and departure 4.05 p.m., arrival at Ahmedabad 5.05 p.m. and departure 5.35 p.m. and arrival at Calcutta 7.50 p.m. The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Indian Airlines has also announced changes in flight schedules with effect from October 26.

Flight IC 917/918, operating on the Chennai-Bangalore-Pune route, will henceforth operate between Bangalore-Pune and Pune-Bangalore only. The timings are:
IC 917 - departure from Bangalore 10.05 a.m., arrival at Pune 11.25 a.m.
IC 918 - Departure from Pune 12.10 p.m., arrival at Bangalore 1.35 p.m.

The frequency of this flight has been increased from thrice to four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
There is no change in timing and frequency of Delhi-Pune-Delhi flights.

SI dies in mishap
Bajirao Nana Patil, a 50-year-old sub inspector from Nagpur, was killed when his scooter hit a stationary truck at Shinde Vasti in Bibvewadi on Wednesday afternoon. Patil is survived by wife, two teenaged sons and a daughter.

Patil, who was on sick leave, was returning home after consulting a doctor at the Sassoon hospital. Patil suddenly lost control and hit the truck. Profusely bleeding Patil was rushed to a private hospital by passersby. He was shifted to another private hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Patil joined the Pune city police as a constable in 1970, was promoted as sub inspector and transferred to Nagpur one and a half month ago. He fell ill and had proceeded on sick leave. His body was handed over to his relatives after a post-mortem.
