Oct 23: Jeev Milkha Singh fired a bogey-free six under 66 to take a one shot lead at the halfway stage of the $150,000 Fedex PGA Golf Championships at Raffles Country Club (Singapore), according to information received here. Chris Williams (South Africa) also had 66 but was lying second.Vivek Bhandari shares joint third spot with overnight leader Carlos Espinosa (Mexico), Masashige Shinoda (Japan) and America's Peter Teravainen. Bhandari carded five under 67 to be four strokes behind Jeev.
Singh had birdies in the 10th, 12th and 13th. After negotiating the tough 16, 17, and 18 in one under, he reached the turn at 32 before picking up two more birdies on the first and fifth. Although Singh missed a four-foot birdie on the eight, he drained a six-foot putt for par to stay one ahead of the clubhouse leader Williams.
Gaurav Ghei and Amandeep Johl are the other Indians who made the cut which was applied at 148. Ghei was joint fourth with a four under 68 second day card while Johl squeezed in with a two over74. Indians who failed to make the cut include Jyoti Randhawa, Amritinder Singh and Kanwar Sekhon.
