MUMBAI: Tata Infotech, the Tata group information technology flagship, has recorded a 42 per cent rise in revenue to Rs 207.55 crore (Rs 146.55 crore the corresponding period the previous year). The net profit of the company increased to Rs 25.4 crore (Rs 11.9 crore).

The systems integration division, the largest operating division within the company, bagged a number of prestigious orders. Some orders bagged in the international market included multiple contracts from north central data cooperative (NCDC) which included applicatin development for a general ledger system and central office equipment and continuing property record.

Dr Reddy's

MUMBAI: Dr Reddy's Laboratories has registered a 19 per cent increase in net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 16.85 crore as against Rs 14.16 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company achieved a bottomline growth of 43 per cent for the first six months of the current fiscal. Total income in thefirst half at Rs 224.42 crore rose 30 per cent over the previous year and this includes the second quarter earnings of Rs 109.71 crore. The company has also made a provision of Rs 5.45 crore for depreciation including amortisation of brand-acquisition cost. This includes a second quarter provision of Rs 2.87 cr.

EU rejects charge

BRUSSELS: The 15-nation European Union (EU) today rejected charges that Indian exporters were `targetted' in connection with anti-dumping and anti-subsidy cases, saying its handling of this contentious issue was just the ``normal rules'' of international trade. Speaking at the second meeting of the Indo-EU joint commission on trade here, co-chairman from the European Commission (EC) side, Camino, said there seemed to be a ``growing misperception'' in India about the EC trade policy.
