GUNTUR: Devineni Seshagiri Rao, the main accused in the sensational murder of Siti Cable managing director P Ramakrishna in Vijayawada recently, surrendered before the CID inspector here today. Rao's surrender came as he was refused anticipatory bail by a court in Vijayawada which ordered him to surrender before the investigating officer.

HYDERABAD: A Dalit sarpanch belonging to the NTR-TDP was shot dead by the extremists of the CPI(M) Janasakthi at Kanaparthi village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh today. The extremists barged into the house of the Sarpanch, V Pochaiah and shot him dead from point blank range.
