SURAT, Oct 25: A number of facilities, including a new library, laboratory and computer-cum-fax centre will be inaugurated at the Navyug College of the city by president of the Navyug Vidyabhawan Trust and noted industrialist C K Pithawala on October 30. South Gujarat University acting vice-chancellor Rohit Shelat would be the chief guest at the function.A release issued by the Navyug Vidyabhawan Trust, which runs the college, said that while the foundation stones for the library and science laboratory will be laid down during the function, the new premises of the post-graduate centres for the science, arts and commerce streams will also be inaugurated at the function. The SGU recently gave permission to the college to open post-graduate classes in these streams at the college.
A fully equipped computer centre with fax and phone facilities will also be inaugurated at the function. It has been constructed with help from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
In addition, stone-laying ceremonies for a new library as well as science laboratory are to be held at the college premises located at Rander area of the city.
The release issued by the trust stated that the upgraded facilities at the college as well as granting it post-graduate status are due to the efforts of C K Pithawala to provide quality education to students of the city.
