SHIMLA, Oct 25: Former Congress MLA from tribal Bharmaur area, Thakur Singh Bharmauri today alleged that tribals in Pangi and Bharmaur were being supplied poor quality ration and demanded a probe into this.Bharmouri said due to negligence of government contractors and Department of Civil Supplies, the ration goods were dumped in the open and were badly damaged by rain and snow. He said inhabitants of Cheri Bangla Sidh Mandir and Roli areas were resenting the delay in the supply of essential commodities. He pointed out that when the ration goods did arrive, they were damaged. People of the areas were in a panic as the valley was likely to cut off due to snow.
Bharmouri also urged the state government to rush a special team of officers to inspect and check whether the ration goods were fit for human consumption or not.He also brought to the notice of the state government the collapse of the bridge on the Chamba-Bharmouri road in the recent rains and demanded early repair of the bridge.
Bharmouri also demanded adequate compensation for sheep breeders whose live stock was washed away in the recent rains. He said shepherds of the areas had suffered a lot and demanded support price for Angora sheep breeders who were facing loss due to lack of marketing structure for Angora wool.
