MUMABI, October 27: Central Railway Mumbai Division beat Saki Village Boys by a solitary goal in the MDFA-conducted Harwood football league at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today. Mumbai Division got off to a good start but it was Saki Village Boys who gradually dominated the proceedings. Saki Village had an early chance but Manuel Pillay shot wide from close range.Mumbai Division scored what eventually turned out to be the match-winner in the 22nd minute. Mumbai Division's Manoj Kanojia took a corner kick which saw Inas Britto tap the ball over the goalkeeper, who had left his charge.
The second-half was mostly played out in midfield with the rival defences holding sway.
In Division III-A, Sonata trounced Friends 5-0. Vijay Nair, Mani Thodu, Rajesh Gurav, Stephen Joseph and Louis Almeida were the goal-getters.
