Hospital interns observe black day

NEW DELHI, Oct 27: The Delhi Medical Students Union observed a black day on Tuesday to demand better working conditions for interns in the four medical colleges in Delhi. Interns, medical students and resident doctors in all medical colleges and hospitals in the city wore black badges.The main demands of the interns are better emoluments, linking of stipends with residents' scale of payment, defining working hours so that they do not exceed 48 hours in a week and 12 hours at a stretch, a weekly off day and at least 36 days leave in a year.
