NEW DELHI, October 27: Oxford School (Vikaspuri) dethroned defending champion Montfort School 31-25 to reach the senior girls final of the Hansraj Prabhakar Memorial basketball tournament being played Oxford Sr sec School here today.Ekta Mehta paved the way for Oxford victory with 11 points while her school-mates Tamana and Meena contributed with eight and six points, respectively. For Montfort, Neha Bharadwaj scored 14 points.Oxford set up title clash with Sprindales School (Pusa Road). Sprindales thrashed Indira Ideal School 42-18 to reach the final.
Tanya Ahuja (10), Chetna Gulati, Prabhpreet, Aashyita Byotra (eight each) were the scorers for the winners while Aarti and Deepika (six each) contributed for the losers. In the senior boys section, Mount Carmel School edged past Oxford School 46-35 to enter the semis.
