EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, Oct 28: In an FIR filed with the Ankleshwar police, a man from Bharuch district alleged that his daughter was murdered by her husband and his family members on August 28. According to the complaint, his daughter did not die of a heart attack as reported, but was murdered in cold-blood by the accused, who had been pressurising her to get more dowry. In the FIR, the complainant alleged that though he had given dowry according to his financial position, he was unable to meet the additional demands of a television, fridge and motorbike. According to him, the victim was murdered at Ankleshwar and her body was shifted to the nearby Gadakhal village. The body was then subsequently shifted to to Hansot village in Vadodara district, the native place of the accused. The accused then informed the complainant that his daughter had died of a cardiac arrest. In a written note circulated to local newspapers, the complainant regretted that none of the accused had been arrested. The complainant has also written to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Union Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani and Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel to ask the police to carry out a detailed probe into the incident.
