Battered woman poisons children,takes own life

GHAZIABAD, October 28: A woman, who had reportedly suffered abuse at the hands of her husband, committed suicide yesterday and also allegedly administered poison to four of her children. While one of her daughters died, the other is critical.

The police have arrested the woman's husband Chandrapal, a cobbler who lives in Sadarpur village. According to the information available, he would get drunk and then beat up his wife, Jagwati, and the children.

Chandrapal reportedly was inebriated yesterday when he reached his house and asked Jagwati for money to gamble. When Jagwati refused, he attacked both her and Neeta. After Chandrapal left, Jagwati allegedly gave her four children poison in their milk.
