Tendulkar tweaks Aussies into submission
Sachin Tendulkar single-handedly propelled India to victory over Australia in their quarter-final clash in the Wills Mini-World Cup at Dhaka yesterday. India, batting first, racked up 307 runs in their 50 overs, thanks to a brilliant 141 by Tendulkar. The Aussies in reply were bowled out for 263, Tendulkar taking 4 wickets for 38 runs.

Anand on top after four rounds
Vishwanathan Anand got past the initial phase unscathed with two wins over tough rivals in the category 18 Fontys International tournament. He now leads the field with three points and faces Hungarian Grandmaster Peter Leko today in what should be a relatively easy match for him.

Sandeep survives Greek turbulence
Eighth seeded Sandeep Kirtane survived a stormy encounter with Greek Niko Karagiannis before moving into the quarter-finals of the Wearhouse Satellite tennis tournament on Wednesday. Kirtane won the match 6-7 (8-6), 6-2, 6-3 and earned the right to take on second seeded Federico Rovai of Sweden in the next round.
