This centre would be set up in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology and Union Ministry of S and T.

Addressing scientists and representatives of non-governmental organisations and representatives in a two-days' workshop on science popularisations and communications organised by the State Council for Science, Technology today.

He said that the council had involved NGOs in science popularisation, environmental awareness, waste re-cycling technologies for the benefit of common man.

Over 60 participants from the State Science and Technology Councils from Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, NGOs and scientists from universities and institutions are participating in the workshop.
