PUNE, Nov 1: With a view to give conventional technical education a much desired fillip, teachers in government engineering colleges and polytechics in Maharashtra will have to go undergo a compulsary intensive training programme.The training, scheduled to begin in June next year, will be given under the Rs 25 crore grant given to the State by the Canadian Government.
Speaking to media persons at a seminar on ``ATKT for SSC students'' organised by Upekshit Unnati Pratishthan here today, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Datta Rane said emphasis of the training would be laid on quality of teaching and improvement in the mode of imparting technical education.
He said the government was taking all possible steps to bring about radical changes in the field of imparting technical education section so as to equip students in meeting challenges posed by fast evolving technical environment.
