MUMBAI, Nov 4: A last-wicket partnership of 64 runs between Ankit Patel (37) and Vipul Patel (29 not out) helped Gujarat swell their first innings total to 345 at the Wankhede Stadium. By the end of the second day of the Cooch Behar under-19 cricket match, Gujarat had Mumbai in a spot of bother at 156 for five today.Mumbai were poorly placed at 20 for two but slowly recovered to the present situation. Gujarat were 281 for nine before their rearguard action helped them reach a formidable score. The Patels scored their runs in just 16 overs.
When Mumbai batted, they lost wickets quickly and only a middle order revival by Nilesh Gawas and Sushant Manjrekar, who raised 52 for the fifth wicket, helped Mumbai come out of the slump. Before that, opener Ashutosh Narkar had scored a patient 40.
