Youth drowns
Twenty-five year old Ramesh Natwarlal Jaiswal, a resident of Nimeta village, was drowned in a canal on Wednesday morning. According to fire brigade personnel, Jaiswal had gone to the canal to wash his hands, when he slipped. He was body was fished out later.

Assault
Premprakash Jaimangal Masih, a resident of Jashoda Colony in Makarpura area, sustained serious injuries when three people allegedly assaulted him with bricks and iron rods on Monday evening. In a FIR registered in the Makarpura police station, Masih said Naginbhai Nagjibhai Thakore, Vasant Nagjibhai Thakor and Bhagwan Nagji Thakor, all residents of Makarpura, attacked him over a trivial issue. Investigations are on, the police said.

Vehicle thefts
One Viralbhai Pravinbhai Patel, a resident of Kubernagar in Manjalpur area, has in a complaint to the police claimed that his Luna moped (GJ-6-M-3380) worth Rs 4,000 was stolen by some unidentified people from near Deep Chambers in Manjalpur on Tuesday. In another incident, two bicycles, one worth Rs 1,200 and the other valued at Rs 500, were stolen from the Navapura area, the police said. Investigations are on.

Trespass
The Makarpura police has registered a case of criminal trespass against four people for breaking open the house of their tenant, residing in their Atladara house for the last several months. According to police, all four also beat up Bhailal Kesarbhai Patel. The police is looking for culprits.

Liquor seized
The City police seized seven litres of country liquor worth Rs 175 and five bottles of Indian Made foreign Liquor worth Rs 900 on Wednesday. While cases under the Prohibition Act were registered against two persons, 10 were arrested in an inebriate state.
