New Delhi, Nov 5: One more BJP ally, the Lok Shakti, today joined the chorus for a meeting of Chief Ministers to discuss measures to check the price spiral even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) declared that the Central Government's policies were ``not at all responsible'' for the price rise.Lok Shakti chief and Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde, who supported Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Bannerjee's demand for a meeting of CMs, said the shooting prices would have an impact on the November 25 Assembly elections in four States. Yesterday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Akali Dal had supported Mamata's demand for the CM's meet.
``Such a meeting should be held. There cannot be any two opinions on that. Even Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee feels there should a meeting,'' Hegde said.
He however said the meeting of Chief Ministers may not be held before the Assembly elections. ``Though checking of prices is important, it does not mean that a meeting of Chief Ministers will solve the problemovernight.''
