Firing in Kandivli

Express News Service
MUMBAI, November 5: Three unidentified gunmen threatened a human rights activist at Kandivli in the north-western suburbs by firing several rounds in the air this afternoon.

Police said at 12.40 pm three armed men came in an autorickshaw and accosted Rajesh Singh, an activist of the Manavadhikar Nagrik Vikalp Sanghatana, in front of the Irani Wadi office of the human rights organisation at Kandivli. After showering abuses on Singh, the trio whipped out a revolver and fired several rounds in the air. The trio then warned Singh that next time the bullet will be fired at him. On Tuesday, Gundecha Housing Society had lodged a complaint with the local BMC office and got a tea stall erected right next to Singh's office. Following Singh's complaint three youths were picked up by the police.
