``I have just come from Bharuch and I came to know about this only through newspaper reports. The government will inquire into how rotten onions came in,'' the chief minister told reporters here this evening. The seven-member committee formed last week to take decisions on all civil supplies issues will meet again tomorrow to discuss this issue and measures to arrest the spiralling prices of essential commodities, including salt and onions.

Leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, the BJP's farmers' wing, Saurashtra oil millers and traders have threatened to call for an indefinite closure of marketing yards in the region if the restrictions on inter-state movement of groundnut seeds and oil are not withdrawn.
