CHANDIGARH, Nov 6: The Northern Railway has extended the route of the Ambala-Sirhind passenger train to Nangal Dam, according to an official press release.Satwinder Dhaliwal, member parliament, today flagged off the train at Sirhind railway station, in a simple ceremony, for its onward journey on the extended route. The route of the same train was earlier curtailed during the days of militancy in Punjab. The train will leave for Nangal Dam at 8.10 pm every day.
The Swarn Shatabdi which started stopping at Ambala cantt last month, has been opened for booking from Ambala Cantt.Tickets were also available form Jalandar, Ludhiana and Amritsar.
