CHANDIGARH, Nov 6: The Punjab government today decided to give revised pay scales to medical and dental teachers working in medical colleges at par with the PCMS doctors.The decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
According to an official spokesman, the professors in the medical colleges would get the pay scale of Rs 18,600-22,100, assistant professors Rs 16,350-20,100 and senior lecturers Rs 14,300-18,150 along with all allowances and time scale placement being given to the PCMS doctors.
The proposal regarding pay scales of non-medical teachers in these colleges was agreed to in principle. However, it would be sent to the implementation committee for grant of UGC scales. The issue of UGC scales for Ayurvedic teachers as recommended by the Fourth Pay Commission would also be sent to the implementation committee.
