Lankan challenge wiped out by Agarkar ambush
A brilliant cameo knock of 26 off just 12 balls from Ajit Agarkar took India to victory in the first match of the Coca Cola Trophy at Sharjah yesterday. India, chasing 246 for a win, were also helped by a sedate 94 from skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, who became the highest run-getter in one-day cricket with this knock.

Aussies run riot
Australia defeated Pakistan by 86 runs in the opening match of their three-match one-day series at Karachi yesterday. The Australians, batting first, piled on an imposing 324 for 8 in their 50 overs, thanks to a maiden one-day ton from Darren Lehmann. Pakistan, in reply, were bowled out for 238 runs in the 48th over.

Pakistan set date with Dutch for title
Hosts Pakistan, came from behind to beat title-holders Germany 3-1 and reach the final of the 20th Champions Trophy world hockey tournament yesterday. Pakistan will now play Netherlands in the final on Sunday.
