VADODARA, Nov 9: City-based digital art gallery Art Underground, in association with The Indian Express, will organise a Digital Art Group Show and Auction -- The Young at Art -- on November 14 and 15 featuring the works of 121 children. The exhibition will showcase more than 225 paintings created by children aged between five and 15 years on a computer.The second of its kind organised by Art Underground in the city, the proceeds of the auction will be donated to the Vadodara Centre for Animal Rescue and Emergency (VCARE).
The show will include several exclusive portfolios such as `Shri Ganesh' -- a series of digital renderings of Lord Ganesha by children, amateur women artists and fine artists, `Mirrors of Her Mind' -- digital paintings by 21 amateur women artists, `The Earth We Love', `Food and Frolic' and `Cyberspace'.
The show will be declared open by officiating dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University, P D Dhumal on November 14 at the Chandarva Hall, Welcomgroup Hotel, R C Dutt Road at 4 pm. The auction will be initiated by model Namrata Baruah with Bharat Mody, Member, Governing Council, VCARE on November 15. Awards will be given to children by Kalpesh Patel, Director, Nirma Chemical Works. Editor (Gujarat), The Indian Express, Derick D'Sa will present portfolios and certificates to participating children and young artists. Renowned artist and Head of the Painting department, Rini Dhumal will hand over portfolios to the amateur women artists.
