Man shoots son-in-law in the legs
A gokulpuri resident was reportedly shot at and beaten up by his father-in-law on Sunday night. Sanjay (26) was injured in the legs. The police said that there was some tension between Sanjay and his father-in-law Bir Singh. At about 11 pm, Bir Singh went to Sanjay's house with two of his men, and they allegedly beat him up. They then allegedly fired at Sanjay with a country-made revolver and fled.

Woman sets self afireA 22-year-old woman reportedly set herself afire on Sunday in the servants' quarter of 15, Aurangzeb Road. The police said that the woman's relatives didn't rush her to hospital immediately after the incident as they got scared. Guddi was later taken to RML Hospital, where she was declared dead. She was married to Shish Pal a year ago. A sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) will conduct an inquiry.

Seven youths hijack truck
Seven youths hijacked a truck carrying household items after dumping the driver and helper in the Dhaula Kuan area of southwest Delhi on Saturday night. According to the police, the youths were travelling in a white Maruti Gypsy. They stopped the truck, bearing a Karnataka registration number and carrying general household items like incense sticks, on the isolated Ridge Road. Five of the youths boarded the vehicle, while two others followed in the jeep. They later dumped the driver Balwant Singh and his helper Suresh at Dhaula Kuan, police said.

2 arrested for robbery
The Keshav Puram police arrested two youths of Bihar on charge of robbery on Sunday evening. Mohammed Miraz and Naresh both between the ages of 18-20 years allegedly stole Rs 300 and a wristwatch from a man at knife-point. The victim, a Shakur Basti resident, Anil, was returning home from his factory at Lawrence Road when three people accosted him. He shouted, and constable Rajender caught hold of two of the men, with the help of passersby. While the money and watch were recovered, the third accomplice managed to get away.

Liquor seized
The Adarsh Nagar police seized 2,600 pouches of country-made liquor on Sunday. Pitampura resident Santosh had allegedly bought the alcohol from Koshi, Uttar Pradesh, and was nabbed at Azadpur in his Maruti van.
